June Garden

Our garden is really taking off! The tomato plants are 3x their original size and are producing. The peppers are doing really we also. Two or three plants have a pepper. The onions are out of control along with the cilantro, parsley and basil. We are about to get overwhelmed with produce! I love it. The zucchini and yellow squash is also growing well next to the house. There are quite a few flowers on each plant.

Lawn & Garden Update

Hey there! It’s been a while since I have posted. Sorry. No hockey, no posts usually. I hate being on break. I miss it.
I thought I’d put some images of the lawn and garden. I have planted quite a few things this year including tomato, green pepper, yellow pepper, jalapeno pepper, red onion, white onion, yellow onion, shallot, rosemary, purple basil, sweet basil, parsley, cilantro, garlic chives, zucchini,  yellow squash and garlic, maybe. I can’t wait to start picking!

9-0 win tonight

We won our game tonight 9-0. I had one goal and two assists. It was a good game. We needed to rank up as many goals as possible to try to get the point differential since the teams are so close. I think we held on to the fourth place spot. We will probably place next week at 4:30.
On Saturday Mark & Angel had a garage sale. We took a ton of items over in hopes of getting a new lawn mower. I went low on a few things and …

More yard work

I spent most of the day outside doing yard work. I mowed the yard and trimmed up first. I then tackled a pretty big project. My neighbor has a sump pump under her house that has been flooding the space between our houses in the spring. I talked to her earlier in the week and she agreed to get me the materials to fix it. She brought over some pipe. I dug the 20 foot long trench along the fence and buried the pipe. It should definitely keep the water …

Hey there!

Sorry, I have not posted anything in a while. Haven’t played hockey in over a week because of Easter. I have been doing quite a few yard projects including the garden. I have planted red, yellow, and white onion, shallots and some garlic. I can’t believe how much dirt it is taking to fill our new raised bed. I still have to add another 10 garden soil bags. Later this month I am going to plants some tomato, bell peppers and some herbs. I can’t wait! Another project was the …

1 Goal, 1 Assist

We won our game tonight 5-3. I had a goal midway through the second period off a great centering pass in front of the goalie. Our team played positions very well and it showed. Not bad, considering we were missing a few guys. It was a fun game.
I added another 20 bags of soil to the garden today. I am broke!

Garden 2010

I did quite a bit of work in the back yard today. I built a new raised bed out of treated lumber and filled it with 40 bags of top soil. Last year, our garden did fairly well, but the crappy soil, clay and rock made it hold water so it flooded. This time around I hope it does well. We’ll begin planting in the new couple of weeks after we pay our taxes!

I went crazy on our yard and landscaping today. I took out all the flowers around the tree ring, and in front by the sidewalk. Some of the flowers were transplanted to new planters and one in the garden around back. I also trimmed the giant knockout rose bush back to a manageable size. The new orange and purple mums look great and only set me back $20. We are headed to a pig roast in a few!!
