Sarah and I had one fantastic weekend! Friday night we went to Maria’s for dinner followed by the Art Walk in downtown Springfield. We found her a really nice dress at a store called Indie’s. She looked cute in it!

Saturday we got up at a decent time and headed to St. Louis for a Cardinals game. We got there a bit early and tried to find some clothes at the Galleria mall. The game started at 5:35 so we had just a short amount of time to get checked in at our hotel before the game. Luckily the hotel had a shuttle to the ballpark. We did not want to drive at all. The shuttle was packed tighter that a can of sardines. Probably a code violation. Our tickets at the game were amazing. We had seats in the Redbird club. They were just below the broadcasting area. The section has its own private concessions including fresh cut prime rib, stir-fry, and just about everything you could every want. The lines for beer were really short too, and that included a full bar. I even bought a Cardinals batting practice jersey that you can only buy in that section. It was sweet. I only wish the game would have gone better. The birds got their butts kicked. After the game we made our way to the Arch for a free John Legend concert. It was Fair St. Louis so they also had some concessions set up. I had a lamb gyro, Sarah had a  chicken. They were super tasty. The fireworks under the Arch were  kick ass. We were both having a great time. We walked around for a bit after the show and finally got a cab back to the hotel. We went straight to Syberg’s, the bar in the hotel. They had some karaoke  going so I was a bit scared. Some of those people were really good. One guy sang some Sinatra and Ray Charles. One girl even tried to pick us up. I think she was a swinger, lol. Sarah also sang a couple of songs that night. Saturday we made our usual stops to Trader Joe’s and World Market. Super fun trip.

Sunday night we went to Linda’s for our family gathering. We grilled some brats, drank some beer and watched fireworks. The country club fireworks were far better than James River this year. Might have to watch them from our back porch next year.

Around noon today we went to my parent’s for lunch. We got to hang out with Romain and Sherry which I never get see enough of. It was fun. Sarah and I spent all afternoon shopping. Yeeehaw, we got some cool stuff today.

We won our game 7-6 tonight. I had one goal in the second period. We had a few extra people to start the game putting us at 15 skaters. We actually ran 6 defense. That was pretty cool. I played back and we tried to limit our shifts to 45 seconds. The game was fun. We are off next week for the fourth.

Yesterday Sarah and I met a few friends at Kauffman stadium in KC for a Royals vs Cardinals game. We did some tailgating in the parking lot prior to the game which is always a bad idea! We had a blast though. It was 95 degrees outside and even hotter in the parking lot and inside the stadium. It was an awesome time and the Redbirds won!

I scored the first goal of the game tonight in our 6-4 win. I felt really good tonight. I guess it’s because I don’t drink like a college student anymore. Haha! It was a back and forth game and a little physical. Time for a beer on the back porch and some Cardinals baseball!!! I love this weather.

We won our game tonight 6-3. Our goalie played super well tonight. I was a little slow as usual. One of these days I will need to go to the gym and/or start running again. I really need to lose 30 or so pounds. It was a fun game. No fighting or jerks on the other team.I was out of town, but I guess our team won on Friday and lost Sunday night. One guy was suspended two games. I always miss the fun!

Not a whole lot has been going on lately. We have been trying to save for our taxes so not much to report during the week. Friday night we had some people over to celebrate the warm weather. I did some beer can chicken and we had some tasty sides. Fun night. Saturday I wired the back porch for satellite! Cardinals games outside this season!

Man, how long is it going to rain? It has been going strong all day and it doesn’t look good on the radar. I am trying to watch a Cardinals game right now and a Mizzou football game later. C’mon! This is the only reason it’s better to have cable. The ONLY reason. Argh.

I got hit by a puck on the back of my leg last night. It really stings! There is going to be a giant bruise.

There are a few more things left to do to this website. I still need to add the old archives, culinary photos and maybe some photos. Definitely want to add the Cardinals section. Stay tuned.
