Well they are building a new house next to us. They have begun digging up the ground today. It’s early, but it looks like the back deck will be facing ours. I guess it might be time to plant some large bushes or make the fence taller. Ugh.

St. Louis trip

Sarah and I went to St. Louis last weekend to visit friends and attend a Cardinals game. We drove up on Friday. Longest trip ever. I had to stop at a McDonalds for an hour to do some work. We got into town around 2:30 or so and went to the St. Louis zoo! That was super fun. Glad it did not rain. Friday night we had dinner with Laura and her boyfriend Joe at a place called Chimichanga’s. The tornado missed us! All we had was some heavy rain.

Saturday morning we went to the Soulard Coffee Garden for breakfast. Mmmmm! That afternoon we went to a Catdinals game with tickets from Alexa. It was a great game until the darn rain. After the long delay the Cards lost. Saturday night we went to a few bars and hung out in Soulard.

Friday morning we met Romain, Sherry, John and Crystal for breakfast. It was great to see them. Romain gave me a powdered sugar bath! Haha

Rain and more rain

Well it has been raining for days bow and the crawl space under our house is flooded. I went to Lowe’s tonight and bought a sump pump. So far it’s working pretty well. After it drains I will make it more permanent.

Garden 2011

I skipped my hockey game this week so I could get the garden prepped. I also did some edging around the driveway and sidewalk. I spent most of the day outside in the 86 degree heat. I got quite a sunburn and a sore body. I can’t wait to start planting!

Cashew Chicken

I made some delicious cashew chicken tonight using my mom’s recipe. It turned out really well and the sauce was a bit more sweet than usual. Very tasty!!!!

Blizzard 2011

Blizzard!! Well I guess you can call it that. We only received about 6 inches at our house. Most of the mess is from the wind blowing it around. I wanted more snow! I worked from the house today. Not sure about tomorrow yet. Shoveled the driveway tonight. My back hurts.

June Garden

Our garden is really taking off! The tomato plants are 3x their original size and are producing. The peppers are doing really we also. Two or three plants have a pepper. The onions are out of control along with the cilantro, parsley and basil. We are about to get overwhelmed with produce! I love it. The zucchini and yellow squash is also growing well next to the house. There are quite a few flowers on each plant.

Lawn & Garden Update

Hey there! It’s been a while since I have posted. Sorry. No hockey, no posts usually. I hate being on break. I miss it.

I thought I’d put some images of the lawn and garden. I have planted quite a few things this year including tomato, green pepper, yellow pepper, jalapeno pepper, red onion, white onion, yellow onion, shallot, rosemary, purple basil, sweet basil, parsley, cilantro, garlic chives, zucchini, yellow squash and garlic, maybe. I can’t wait to start picking!

Big ass potato!

I bought a giant 3 pound potato from Dillons tonight. It took 2.5 hours to bake and threw off our dinner until almost 9 PM. I have no idea why I thought it would be a good idea to try to eat it. LOL. We also had some turkey filets with some fresh green beans sauteed with mushroom, red onion and balsamic vinegar. It was a pretty good meal minus the giant potato that tried to kill me.
